The Importance of Mobile Phones to a Teenager A mobile phone is a gadget of communication that is carried about. It is used to make and receive calls, send text messages and pictures, check for information on the internet and so to socialize on platforms like facebook, whatsapp, Instagram, tiktok etc. While a teenage person is who is under eighteen years of age. And in most cases this is the situation with a larger percentage (97%) of students in primary and secondary school. Mobile phones has several advantages to a teenager. First, it is a modern means of communication and they need it to keep in touch with family and friend everywhere. This is more important to teens whose parents or guardians are always on the road or who work far from home. Secondly, it is a useful tool in case of an emergency or when a teen's life is endangered and there is no immediate help around. The teenager can call a number for help or rescue. In homes where there is domestic violence, the teenager can call the police, NGO or a family member or friend for help at home. Lastly, it is also useful for academic purposes in schools, for e-learning and to search for vital and academically useful information on the internet. They can also access subject notes and assignment from a mobile phone. In conclusion, mobile phones are vital to teenagers if properly guided and meaningfully used.
